Re: Big green egg users
I continue to have a problem when I load the egg full of charcoal. The first time I use it after loading, it seems to do fine but after that it doesn't seem draw in air very well and I have a hard time getting a decent cooking temperature. I think the bottom portion that holds the charcoal gets clog...

Re: cobia off the lighthouse
I believe when folks around here talk about "the lighthouse", they mean the one at St. Marks. Somewhat off topic but how many lighthouses do we have around here? There's the one on St. George that was moved from Little St. George and the one at Port St. Joe that they moved from the Cape. A...

Re: Cool take on the PVC rod holder
Does look good but also looks like it wouldn't take much to snatch that rod out. I think I would want to add something to it like maybe a line with a clip to go on the rod or something. Thoughts?

Right, that was my point. It's been a while since I've been on that river and I expect the water level may be higher with the rain lately but I sure would be nervous trying to run that boat there.

A 17' Proline in the Wascissa River? Really? Big difference between a johnboat and a Proline but I guess you never know till you go.

Re: Small Pecan Grove Question
I am no expert but do have some experience with personal planting and the main thing I would say and emphasize is WATER. You really have to water the pecans regularly to get them established and I would say to plan on it for 3 years or so, not just 1 year. Some form of irrigation is a must in my opi...

Re: Question for those who like to smoke stuff
I have a Masterbuilt and it is a good and easy slow cooker but not much of a smoker. The wood chips go in a metal box that sits on top of the heating element. Unless the temp is up over 300, there's not much smoke and 300 is too high for low and slow cooking. I also have a BGE and love it for grilli...

Not quite as funny if you've been there and done that. Don't ask me how I know. Wife -- "I thought you were going kayaking?" Me -- "Nope, decided to sit on the beach and drink beer instead" Wife -- Why are you all wet?" Me -- "Spilled my beer" Wife -- "What's ...

The guy definitely doesn't have the sense that God gave a turnip. Absolutely need to get him out of the news business -- put down the keyboard and slowly back away.

Re: Gerald Ensley's article in the Democrat on banning guns
I had an e-mail exchange with Ensley a few months ago about an article we wrote. Apparently one morning he found a young man he did not know asleep in his (Ensley's) den. Ensley was very proud of the fact that he did not call the police and just woke the guy up and sent him on his way. I suggested t...

I believe in Global Warming ...... and the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy and Sasquatch and .... But seriously, to me a big part of the problem is the "believe in" or "don't believe in" notion. Seems to me this all should be a matter of facts not "belief". I wish we c...

Re: Opinions on Food Saver Vacuum Sealer Please..
I've been using a Food Saver for fish for many years and have never had a problem with the moisture screwing up the suck and seal function. I must be doing something wrong. Like Fishinfool, mine has the liquid catch tray on it. Maybe that's what makes the difference. And, yes, you better clean...

Re: Firearm sales question
I really hate to say this but .... it would be best for you if you document your dealings with your friend and, ideally, have a "neutral" witness involved. Despite your good intentions, when dealing with elderly individuals and money, there's a very good chance that someone could raise an ...

Re: It's time for him to go
Unfortunately, we are all part of the problem. Would there have been a 3 page thread on this or any other forum if Winston (or any other player) had volunteered to help out at the homeless shelter? Nope. Good news is no news and bad news and bad acts are what go viral and sell ads. What I hate most ...
