Lake Talquin -- old river channel
Does anyone know if the old river channel followed the Gadsden County/Leon County border line? That would make sense given that the border is not at all straight. Asking for navigational reasons. Now, if anyone out there has a GPS track of the river channel and wants to share it...

Sorry man...it has been slow. Some friends of mine got out today and did pretty well with sheepshead in the creeks.

Re: Box full of channel cats
Nice haul! I haven't fished Talquin since last summer. Time to get back there and poke around. Still have a lot to learn about the lake.

How to clean redfish video
This video is pretty interesting. I've never heard of using a beef skinning knife for cleaning fish, but it looks like it works well. I also love the fish tail holder he made using a dowel with a beer bottle cap screwed to the bottom. Brilliant!

Re: Question for those who like to smoke stuff
I've had a Little Chief and Big Chief electric smoker for about 10 years and they work great. Brought them with me when I moved from the Pac NW. They don't seem to be popular down here and I haven't found chips locally, but you can mail order them. I've only smoked fish and jerky in them, but appare...

Re: St. Marks 01/01/2015
Buddy and I went out same area on Jan 1st. We caught three short reds off an oyster bar at SMR mouth, then headed out toward East River and got into some sea bass. Pretty slow day overall. Fished yesterday (Jan 3rd) and it was pretty choppy out at the SMR mouth. Had a few takes, but no hook ups. Spe...

Re: St. Marks 26 Dec 14
Nice one, at least you got out. I have bass fished some but not sure when I will make it to the coast. Thanks, buddy. Went out again today in the afternoon to fish the incoming. The trout were plentiful at the mouth. Caught all on H&H Usual Suspects soft bait lure. The shrimp didn't draw a stri...

St. Marks 26 Dec 14
The river is pretty blown right now and there's a lot of water/debris moving through. After not so much as a bite, headed out towards the mouth/East River and picked up this nice red off an oyster bar using shrimp in the afternoon during the incoming tide. Only other fish was a pup red.

Wakulla River 12/7/14
Decided to take a break from the saltwater and put in at lower bridge Wakulla. Buzzed downstream to the series of (what looks like) spring runs not that far up from first idle zone. First cast produced a short red on stinky shrimp (leftover live shrimp salted). Not a thing after that. Tossed a gold ...
