Saturday 4/13
Took my father-in-law Wednesday. West flats, spotty bottom, temps around 74. Managed a few keepers with paddletails. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190413/99af144920c0538b1d6afe70665f64bf.jpg Also went about 10 miles east today and limited out (released several slot fish)- same tactic. https://u...

Re: Nearshore - Feb 23
Thanks for the report. I plan on heading to some nearshore "reefs" Saturday in search of sheepshead, BSB, etc. if the rain holds off. Has anyone found the sheepshead thick yet? I will report back Monday. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190228/fe9bffd14b667633a6bc2a4391c01730.jpg Pretty...

Re: St Marks boat accident
Everybody that is a member of this forum or visits this forum should watch that youtube video! You decide. Agreed. Thanks for sharing. I like the analogy of PFD’s / kill switches to seatbelts in the video. They’re an extra step and a little uncomfortable, but they greatly increase your chances of s...

Re: Bananas
What, no lemons? Nice day on the water. But I agree with Gulf Coast--that reverse psych can only last so long before the bananas/bad juju catches up to you. Totally agree . . . . Maybe it was just enough to hit the “reset” button. At least it gave me a chance to teach my son about the banana...
Bananas
Been getting skunked lately, so added a banana to the cooler for some reverse psychology. Found the sheepshead up the river and the trout/redfish closer to the mouth. My son landed the red . . . I love it when he out-fishes me! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190220/550bf392a8f19f6a7c2b8d80d7e77b...

Re: Inshore/River fishing: what am I doing wrong?
I caught one short trout half way up the river between two trips last week. Tough fishing lately. I did find a secret place back to the East. Run about 15 nm east outside of the stake line, then turn back to the North . . . . I think the locals call it Econfina. More fish, less water clarity debates...

Re: Inshore/River fishing: what am I doing wrong?
I went out last Sunday afternoon on a high tide. Headed over to some of the deeper cuts in the big pass / little pass area. My thinking was warmer water and more salinity should hold fish, and that area should check both boxes. The water was a little warmer once I got in there (around 62 - which was...

Re: Hunt or fish?
Don't think anyone will be arguing with you on that one... Curious of general location where you were hunting... begging forgiveness for the poor grammar, looks a bit more "sprucey" and / or "cedary" than the North florida spots I sit over. REGARDLESS, HECK OF A NICE BUCK...

Re: NFGFC CLUB INFO AND DISCUSSION
I've "stalking" NFGFC for several months now, but haven't joined. I have honestly felt a little intimidated by my lack of fishing experience compared to others. I just recently got back in to saltwater fishing and purchased a boat that can fish with the whole family (wife and 3 kids). I th...

Re: Intercoastal 2/3
Fished that same stretch 2 weeks ago with only one short trout all day. Has anyone ever headed west on the ICW towards the Sandy Creek / East Bay area this time of year? We debated making that run on day 2, but trailered over to the Apalachicola River instead . . . . Kids like watching the F-22's f...
