Re: Aucilla fishing trip 1/7-8
Thanks all. Aucilla is a special place to me. My uncle went on a trip there with me several years ago before he died unexpectedly. Did you put in at Mandalay or some other ramp? Mandalay Do it Gary. I took him hunting the week before for doe weekend. He missed on on the first day, but scored on day...

Re: Aucilla fishing trip 1/7-8
Thanks all. Aucilla is a special place to me. My uncle went on a trip there with me several years ago before he died unexpectedly. I told my crew if they did not want to bump rocks, don't come on this trip! We did it all day long, but I went with aluminum for that very reason. We bumped more than a ...

Aucilla fishing trip 1/7-8
Been a while since my last report. Finally got to make the maiden voyage with the new Xpress. It is not totally outfitted yet, but I took it out as is. Really missed the power pole. Used a stake out pole and it worked, but a lot more effort and messing about. It will be in probably before my next tr...
Re: New boat!
2 feet (really only 21 inches) shorter and a 115 instead of a 175. Everything else is identical. Slight difference in color, but I never really cared about that anyway.

Re: Live shrimp
Thanks all. And where is Rocky's?
Re: New boat!
Good question and I went back and forth deciding. Electronics are tough to get right now. I researched and researched and then did some more. I liked the thought of the Marine Tracks and read a bunch on it. I just don't really think I would ever really trust it (or any tracking software) enough to j...

Live shrimp
Gonna take mine and friend of mine's dads next week and don't think they are up for a day of casting. I was thinking I would use live shrimp for them. Does JR's usually have them this time of year? Would be easier than running down to Shields, but just curious. Can't say I have ever used live shrimp...

New boat!
Finally! After selling my Ranger a while back, my new boat is being outfitted and should be available this weekend. I have been boatless for several months and jonesing to get back on the water. Still waiting on a 10' Power pole, but will have that put on when they get it (I'll just use my stake out...

Re: 2016 Prodity 1754
That is the nicest layout of a boat interior I have seen besides my custom Scandy. I like it a lot. Good luck with sale, someone will be getting a great boat.
Put the Quad Stand seat base in there from Bass Pro and you will be cadillacing when duck hunting. Nice ride.

Re: Dumb question-how to fish a gold spoon?
I have always used Johnson. We used to tie red thread on the treble hook - not a lot, just enough to give it color and to drag through the water. I do like Aquadream, especially when a slower presentation is used. Just easier to keep it off the bottom. Vary the retrieves until you get a pattern. Whe...

Re: Sign the Pledge
Thanks Silver. I remember it all real well and only alluded to the need to change the system (Marine Commission), but I had a very close source on the Commission. He was actually apppointed by my mother's second cousin (Lawton Chiles)- who would be my second cousin, once removed! I still voted no an...
