Re: SPANISH MACKS
Its fun to catch them on the fly, but tough on the fly's and get bit off a lot. Knotable wire works well for the latter, but its spendy.

Re: Cedar Key Reports?
Glad you got some pull backs. Is a good ramp, guess the city just has limited revenue streams. Would like to get back there, my kind of place.

Re: Cedar Key Reports?
Have only fished there once in Dec. a few years ago for
a couple days with son. We just drifted around the islands in his old 13 whaler and caught trout. He spin fishes and i'm a fly guy. Cool little town. Ramp fee was $15, a little high i thought.

Re: St Marks NWR - 02 May 2021
Wading the bars whenever possible - I hate fishing out of a kayak but sometimes you have to. It's so much less aggravating wading then being in a kayak. Agree Terrier!! I think the best inshore skiff are my two feet and legs. Unfortunately, too many places ya would sink up to your eyeballs, get eat...

Re: St Marks NWR - 02 May 2021
Your Lighthouse colors seem like a good match for our area. Been using it on darker water/ overcast days and tutti fruitti (chartreuse over pink) in clear water/bright days. Glad you had a good day. I splashed the boat at Carrabelle yesterday and fished some behind Dog Is. and east end of SGI. Lots ...

Re: Florida Marine Tracks around St Marks
I just picked up the Lowrance FS 9 with the Florida Marine Tracks for North Florida and took a screen capture of part of the coastline east of the lighthouse at St Marks. This is not an area I am familiar with but saw the thread and for those without the chip this is what it looks like. I am sure g...

Sounds like you are enjoying new digs. Good for you. Thanks for the info, probably too deep for the long rod though....

Re: Plotter recommendation $500-1,000
I have a new to me bay boat with an 18 year old plotter/finder that needs replacing. I intend to pick up Florida Marine Tracks eventually and would like to get a unit that will run that well. Lots of recommendations for 12" screens online, but it wouldn't really fit well in the console and I'm...

Re: Plotter recommendation $500-1,000
Running FMT will mean running a navico plotter, and a lowrance hook wont run those maps, academy did have the lowrance elite ti for 549 on sale. The FMT guy would not recommend the TI series Lowrance because of poor resolution for FMT. The new Elite FS series has supposedly an upgraded screen. This...

Re: Which maps are best
FMT does not cover inland lales, only the coastal salt. Takes 2 cards, north and south, to cover entire state. I think you are correct that FMT will not run on Hook.
Re: Adios
Have a bunch of tight lines and good luck. Thanks for past help.
