Re: Squirrel Brunswick Stew
Cook it up, you wont be disappointed. Yeah I suppose it would work with 1 Fox squirrel too but FWC sort of frowns on that!
Remember this is a pretty big batch. If I am going to do it I make enough to last and even freeze for later.

Squirrel Brunswick Stew
This time of year with duck season ending I always take a couple of treerat hunting trips into the swamp so I can make a big pot of Brunswick Stew. I substitute squirrel where most people use chicken. You can even serve it to people without letting them know there is rodent involved and they never k...

Re: took a few days off this week to go duck hunting
Gajoey, you gotta love the Hoodies. I drive quite a distance Saturday to fire at (and miss) one bluebill. Then I come home and there are 7 Hoodies on the pond behind my house.
If you want a recipe for Squirrel Brunswick stew PM me. I made a pot a week ago and it is the best.

Re: Piney Island
I remembered later at one time I had launched outta Mashes Sands.
Couple yrs ago I got the permit online. Now the Refuge site seems to say no permit needed to hunt ducks.
I have a very skinny tiny boat and long tail so lowish tides arent end of world but well remember low tide there as a kid.

Piney Island
Let's say a man wanted to go try to hunt Piney Island to get some mergansers or an 8 ounce bufflehead or something crazy like that..... Where would you folks suggest launching? This is a small duck rig so the closer the better to the island. Launching at the St Mks lighthouse is too far. I know of o...

Re: Four Duk hunts in a week
Hey, BBB, your weekend sounds like the one I just had. Lots of hunts, few birds to show for it. Nice Spoonies. Some people poo poo but I am a spoonie lover. Drakes are pretty birds. Same with hoodies, but marinade em for a whole week. " My highlight out of a 5 hunt weekend was MLK day with my s...

Good job Sir. I bet the next thing you do is start wearing an orange Tennessee Vols hat and talking with a Tennessee twang.

Re: Dux on Talquin?
I went to Crappie.com and sent PM to two guys who seem to be at Talquin a lot. No answer yet. I bet noone wants to talk to duckhunters -- about as popular as scallopers is my guess.
