Re: Trailer tire pressure?

I also run around 35-40 pressure for both my truck and trailer for the same reason BBB mentioned. Tires can wear funny for all sorts of reasons, but over/underinflated tires can be one of them. I used to run a very light and small tailer at 50lbs and I noticed the center was wearing faster than the ...

Re: Fish bit someone at St marks sandbar

Are they a non-native invasive species. What I mean is, should I bash them with a bat? Native - yes. Invasive...doubtful, as that would imply they are having some sort of impact on other species. Annoying Nusciance...100%. Bashing them, even in mass, won't really have an impact on the resource or s...

Re: SPANISH MACKS

Specifically, what depth range do they prefer and what is the preferred bait to use? I caught this one on a popping cork and vudu shrimp, was that a fluke or will it work consistently? I ask because popping rigs are easier for kids. If I'm targeting Macks I usually go deeper, but that is because I ...

leonreno wrote: May 13th, 2021, 2:40 pm Do you use planers or do you pull them on the surface or trolling weights?
No planers, no weights. Sometimes I'll troll using a flyrod and sinking line. For some reason, they really like the fly, and if nothing else is working that usually does the trick...plus it's a lot of fun.

Re: Recommend a trolling combo

I don't think you really need any of that...unless you've got cash to burn. I use my inshore stuff and never had any issues due to lack of equipment. Most of the time I tie a bigger leader on my 4000 spinning rods and go with that. Sometimes I'll bring a Calcutta or some other baitcasting rig, but a...

I have a leftover 8' piece from a sheet of 3/4" KingStarboard but it's only about 4" wide. Sounds like it's too narrow, but if you interested send me a message.

Re: PAUL BROWN LURES BY MIRROWLURE

Paul Brown lures are great cold-weather baits, but to reiterate what doomtrpr_z71 already mentioned, at $9-$20/pop, unless you just enjoy burning money, I wouldn't throw one anywhere a spanish/bluefish might be encountered. If you don't already carry super glue with you when you're fishing, I'd sug...

Re: Starboard

Whole sheets give you a lot more bang for your buck, but the closest place that has them is Orlando. I picked up a sheet about 5 years ago and just about have it all used up now in various projects. Maybe that's changed since then though. I built a big fish cleaning station and its holding up great....

Re: Rain Lilies / Swamp lilies

I'm assuming given the drive time that you are north of here, and I am guessing you can find swamp lilies much closer to home if that is all your after. I've floated the Chattahoochee and Flint numerous times and they can get quite thick up there too. The hooch above Walter F George and Harding, and...

Re: Best compound for a non skid deck?

Not sure what you mean about chalking, but I've used both interlux non-skid topcoat and kiwi grip with success. I did the whole topside of my boat with interlux when I built it 5 years ago, and haven't had the first issue with it. I'm very rough on stuff and outside of a few cosmetic blemishes, it's...

How do you know.. and where did you find a nerf football on the water? ... I gotta hear this story Not a fun experience, but the nerf does work well. Always keep one in my boat. Hit a rock hard enough...tear a piece of a nerf football off...shove it in the hole and keep on trucking. Hopefully quick...

Re: Jon boat or Gheenoe for flats

I moved here with a gheenoe 6 years ago and sold it within a month for a Jon boat. Given the fiberglass, rocks, oysters, and open water runs, I'd stick with a Jon boat.

Re: Trailer axle replacement

Ment to add...SS comes in a ton of different flavors. Most big box stores will have 304, but 316 is a much better alternative if you can find it. 316 has molybdenum, which has much better corrosion resistance. Given this is for a marine trailer, it might be worth shopping around to see if you can fi...

Re: Trailer axle replacement

Most of the old bolts broke or snapped, which was fine, I replaced with SS bolts(use anti-seize or grease to prevent galling). You can 100% do it yourself, and I suspect you probably have all the tools you need already. However, SS is not necessarily your best option. Do you have an aluminum traile...
