Re: trim fluid question
I rad a little quick, thought op was speaking of trim/tilt on outboard, I dont have bennet tabs anymore, but if I remember correctly you are supposed to use atF fluid according to what I remember. I was thinking tilt/trim on the outboard.

Re: trim fluid question
Sometimes the petroleum based fluids can shorten the life of rubber gaskets in marine applications. Same thing goes for hydraulic steering fluid. You can get away with it in emergency but per the manufacturers, not recommended. Of course, some people use it with no problems, but why risk it.

Re: Cast net recommendations
X2, call Tim Wade, he can assist you. Having thrown a net the last 25 years in South FL, and been chasing bait up here for two years, I usually throw a 10ft, 3/8, 1.5lb/ft. Mullet and white bait up here is shallow and seems to run fast, im thinking of going back to an 8 ft, little lighter net to get...

Re: Rewiring A Boat Question
I've done a few, my recommendations: Take your time, have a plan and draw it out. Don't buy cheap connectors or wire, heat shrink everything. Keep it organized, lots of zip ties. Use this place for your wiring needs, http://www.genuinedealz.com/marine-wire, make a list and put an order in. I did my ...

Re: Towing Vehicles
The half ton actually isn't a fiat, its a VM motori, they seem to do fine until you use them to do a good bit of towing and then they tend to have issues. They get great mileage but under load they seem to get cam gear slippage and that ends badly. My cousin's boyfriend had one to pull his bassboat...

Re: Towing Vehicles
They don't make diesel motors like they used to, all the epa garbage they put on these motors makes them less efficient and reduces their true power capabilitiesa in reason the pre-Obummer year diesels, 5.9 Cummins, Powerstrokes command such a premium on the used mkt. I have a one ton with a 5.9 Cum...

Re: Goliath Grouper bag limit?
They need to start harvesting them, I'm from S. FL and when those things move into an area they eat everything and I mean everything, they are overly abundant. I would think there are some major concerns with ciguatera eating one of the larger ones.

Re: Help with Yamaha F90 Tilt and Trim
You still should have a battery switch that kills all power to your boat somewhere, only thing that should be able to run when the boat is turned "off" should be the bilge and the auto switch for the bilge, wired directly to the battery. I've never seen a tilt/trim.switch on the bow, maybe...

Re: Trolling Motor Questions
Look hard at th TM with the spot lock option, MG was d efinitely leading in this game, but heard MK made some upgrades in their newer models. It's an awesome feature that will change the way you fish. I have had Dual Pro Chargers, never had an issue, last one was 13 years old when I changed it out. ...
