I got one of the Spot X gizmos that has full texting capability vs just the pre-set messages. Nice for offshore trips in a bayboat, some shooting stuff, underwear and a new toothbrush

Re: RIP George HW Bush
Pretty interesting article, I've read that it is likely the 4141 locomotive will be donated to the presidential library, watched a few minutes of video of the crowds along the line seemed like a lot of people turned out for it.

Re: Knee surgery
I don’t recall any limitations on physical activity with my wife Dr did say that high impact or things like rock climbing could impact the life of the knee. Her surgeon kept her patella so much n his words she has her “God given kneecap”. He also said outside of severe trauma like from an bad auto a...

Re: Creek mouth fishing
I try to avoid boats in close proximity even on the flats. Don't do much shallow creek fishing as they are a bit skinny for me especially in the winter but a little common sense goes a long way and is in short supply these days. Besides the airboats running back and forth seem to keep the creek mout...

Re: Deer velvet question
I once killed a FL whitetail in full velvet in late December. Turned out he had been castrated or had some accident/birth defect, that was probably 30+ years ago and the horns still have the velvet on them. I've heard tales of old timers catching fawns and cutting them like a hog but don't know if t...

Re: Steinhatchee first timer questions
I haven't hit any rocks north of the river (yet) but there are some oyster beds in the shallow areas including around Dallus Creek, my rule of thumb is once I'm in 4' or less I'm usually off plane and idling or on the TM YMMV depending on your draft, don't be fooled by the guys running on plane up s...

Re: Place to stay away from the weather-Dothan AL
If you need a place to park your camper, boats, etc to get away from the weather you are welcome here at my business. Its located in Dothan-although we are still in the path-. I operate a large feed mill here with plenty, plenty, plenty of room for campers, boats, etc. Very well lighted and gravele...

Forgot to add that we had breakfast at the Bridge Cafe, apparently under new ownership. Food was good, fast and they kept the coffee cups full and offered to go cups without us asking. Not many people there for an early Saturday morning in a fishing town but give them a try if you are in the area th...
