Folks, I finally found just the right thing. They're threaded brass inserts used for screws in furniture, and they're in the specialty fastener trays at hardware stores. Does anyone know if Sally flooded the road at the stump hole on Cape San Blas (the rocks at the bend toward the state park)? I'm wondering i about a spot just past the bend. You can park and walk down a path to a kayak launching spot on the bay. If you've been there, you've probably seen it.

Update: I bought that Garmin model on sale at West Marine, and it will fit snugly in the space I have. The sale price was the same as the Simrad Cruise 5, and the Garmin has a slightly bigger screen and many more features. I'm looking forward to playing with my new toy.
