Captains and Crew -
It was another fantastic year. I want to thank each and every one of you for donating your time and resources to Take a Kid Fishing. The weather was a Chamber of Commerce day and the fish cooperated! Saw coolers of fish and lots of little smiling faces. There was plenty of trout, mackerel, and sea bass, not mention plenty of shark stories going around.
We had a total of 16 boats; ten were return anglers with six new participants. There were 20 children from the home, plus the captains’ children!
Thanks again to Brad Dennard with Atkins for providing our cookout again this year. And that Mike Scibelli can cook a mean hotdog!!! Thanks to Doug Barton and his little helper for getting all those hotdogs in the buns. And speaking of buns, thank you Marty Spear (Flowers Bakery) for donating the buns again this year, along with fishing rods for the children’s home. Also, thanks to the City of St. Marks for waiving the ramp fee and donating the pavilion. Thanks Big Bend Fishing Forum and Gerry Gerardi with the Democrat for providing a means to get the word. Thanks Shirley Harrell for your coordination effort on behalf of the children’s home.
Once again…thanks everyone for making this year memorable. Couldn’t do it without this great group of anglers!
