Go down to the plantation turn left at the gate into plantation and there's public beach access. Fish slightly to the right of the beach access ramp there's 2 sandbars in this area you wanna get just beyond the first sandbar. The left side has a sandbar that goes out aways this is a great place for sandfleas but stays too shallow for fishing. Only bad thing is shark also love this little cut out between the sandbar.

Would check with the state park to see if they have restored acess to the east end. In my opinion the best public access place on the island, but it was messed up by a hurricane and not sure if it's back open.

East end is open but you have to have 4wd and get there early. Only 20 vehicles allowed.
