this is a really old post ,however i am interested in the penn 450 ss reels if you still have them ,i have switched to shimano and mostly braid except for offshore trolling but would be interested if you or anybody has 1 ,thanks tight lines to all !

I actually have two 440SS I have had for 31 years. They have been send to Penn and cleaned up a couple of times but still are used on every trip. There was a period that Penn reels just went south in quality. After that period they seemed to get it going again with quality control. They aren't the lightest or the smoothest but they don't have to be pampered either. I sure can't complain about the ones I own.
People that catch a lot of fish fish a lot!
