Take the boat or no?

Post by Geno67 »

Heading to St. George Island this weekend on Saturday.

Anybody do any good trolling off the beach or fishing nearshore on the beach side?

Where would you launch if you were going to spend the day on or near the beach?

We went out of Carrabelle last weekend to one of the towers. The channel was pretty decently marked and we didn't have any problems on the water. We'll be coming from Tallahassee.

Carrabelle city ramp or Timber Island would be your best bet. There's a nice ramp on the island at the foot of the bridge but you would still have to run east or west a ways  to the cut to get to the beach side.

Mayo do some fishing from the beach at SGI this weekend. For the macks would shrimp work?

If you put in under the bridge at SGI go west and its 5 miles to the cut. Fish either way. If you want to go east you should just put in at Carrabelle. This is for fishing on the outside of the islands of course.

Augustus, You may have better luck for Spanish just throwing a Clark spoon (ooo) and cranking fast.
