Dog Island Bottom Fishin

Post by Jenks30fb »

Red Snapper everywhere we went, from 40’ to 60’ to 90’. It was difficult to keep a bait on the bottom anywhere for more than a minute or two. We did manage 1 keeper gag at 26” and a few shorts and 1 short red grouper. We found a spot at 30’ that was LOADED with sea bass. Caught our first lane snapper (16”) at 90’. Caught everything on sardines and squid. At end of the day we scoped out the flats in front of Lanark, but it appeared lifeless.

Most were 8-12”. There were 1 or 2 that may have stretched to 15”. They were hungry. I brought home a small mess. Fish tacos tonight :lick:
