Fishing on 04/20

Post by TomParis »

I took my boat and put in at Shields Marina at 1045 am, and only one other truck/trailer was there, this should have been a sign for me.

I passed the fort boat ramp and maybe 3 or 4 truck/trailers.

Once I passed the lighthouse it was windy and choppy. Caught some trout close to Gray Mare rock. Coming home at 5pm the wind was so strong and the waves so hard I could barely keep it in the channel coming in.

I am now safely home but considering alternatives on weather reports prior to going fishing!

I’m not sure what sure you looked at Tom, noaa has a small craft advisory today, windy and Windfinder has it blowing over 20 knots all day. I’m surprised you were able to get out at all. Glad you were able to get out and back safely and a few fish. Nice

I fished the same area today, just a bit earlier. The wind was howling and it was pretty rough. At least the trout were chewing!

Wasn't bad in the creeks, but yeah my boat was fighting me keep her in between the buoys on the way home. Was never so glad to make it to Saint Marks River!

Yeah I didn’t see you, I only saw two deck boats and they were fishing close to the light house
