Spent Friday and Saturday fishing the flats around the mouth of the Suwannee river. Threw everything except the tackle box. Got nothing but catfish! Only one boat of the 8 at the fish camp had a couple of short reds. No trout, macks, or ladyfish.
On the plus side, it was plenty warm!

I don't know how long you are there for, but my family and I were recently down in Old Town camping on the Suwannee. We had a great time catching bass along the river edges. They seem to be around the fallen timber where the deep water comes close to the shore. If the flats don't improve run upriver and give it a try.

We'll keep that in mind for next time. We only had Fl saltwater licenses so we didn't try the river.
