Carrabelle 10/12-13

Post by jss12121 »

Over the weekend got my father and girlfriend down to the coast. Weather was beautiful with mild winds out of the south. On the 12th only fished about 4 hours on the outgoing tide in the afternoon. This produced one hooked redfish, one spinner shark, and multiple large southern stingrays. On the 13th, weather and conditions were about the same but luck improved quite a bit. We hooked many large rays again but also added a couple of keeper reds, a large keeper flounder, and three tripletail (my first tripletail catch). Great weekend!

 Sounds good, thanks for posting. Those rays can put up a heckuva fight! :-D All the years I have fished down there, I still have yet to catch a tripletail.

Rays are quite a tug.

This is first year I've gotten into tripletail (but what a lot of fun and what a great eating fish).

How long do they hang around? (had heard they leave in early/mid October but just have no clue).
