Might as well spill the bag... I'm the new sheriff in town :-D
I could not let something I enjoy so much die.
Tom and I met this week and worked out a plan to shift responsibilities over the next month.

Don't expect any major changes to the site or policies.
He has warned me about you... You know who you are ;-)

Regarding the social: with about a month to plan I don't know how we could pull together one (raffle and all) this year.
I like getting together so if folks want to do an informal pot luck that day I'm up for it.
Don't see the raffle taking place this year- You really have to start working on donations well before now.
Next year we will be ready.

I liked it so much, I bought the company ;-)

Congratulations, Barry. Great news. Glad to hear the site will continue with little change (except maybe a new home page photo more often  )

I will continue to support the site through raffle donations whenever the Social is set.

Does this mean now I have to call you first before I post anything for sale?

That is very good news.

As far as the BBF Social... all we really need is someone to donate some fish...the other stuff, side dishes, oil, etc generally fall into place and are donated as well. If the time frame seems to short for a Feb event, we could certainly move it into March.

Barry, when you have a chance to catch your breath on this... let us know when you would be able to accept cash support for the site.

Tom, thanks for passing the baby on to someone who will raise it the way you would want it done.

Thanks Tom and Chalk for all your efforts over the years. It's been a fun ride, even if I did get zapped every once in awhile.

That's great news BMan! I, like the others, am excited that someone who has a love of this Site will be taking over.

Tom, there is not enough thread space for us to express everyone's appreciation for what you have given life to. Thanks a million.

On a side note, I was gonna try to take the Site over from Tom, but since I have a connection to the Federales, I would have had to inacted the following:
40% of you would have to contribute to the Site to support the other 60% who don't contribute.
The Site would be strictly monitored and free speech would not have been tolerated (you know who you are).
The Site would run slower, have less content, but I would ask for more funds to operate, and finally,
I would make those with the great secret fishing spots share all that wealth of knowledge with those who don't have any fishing spots, a redistribution if you will.

Just kidding (maybe)....... :smt005

Thanks again Tom for what you have done and Barry, thanks for what you are willing to do.
