St Marks NWR - 20 Apr 2014

Post by Terrier »

Fished the refuge this morning for three hours - 7:30 - 10:30. Cold, windy, cloudy - typical February day! The water wasn't as dirty as I feared but it has cooled a bit from last week. Ended up with 4 trout, all about 15" - 16". They went back for another day. I lost a large trout, felt like an smaller overslot or large slot trout. Had a couple of good runs but the hook pulled when it was getting close. Nothing picture worthy. Same flies that worked last week worked this week.
