St Marks NWR, 25 NOV and 28 NOV

Post by Terrier »

Fished St Marks Thanksgiving from 9:00AM -1:30PM morning and today from 1:30 - 4:00 PM and found good activity with trout on the oyster bars on the incoming tide. Got 15 trout and a 20" redfish on Thanksgiving - 3 topwater on a Gartside gurgler and the rest on Olive/Chartreuse/White clousers. All the trout were legal, with most between 16" - 18", with a few 19"s and a 20" thrown in. I released everything. Today I got 13 trout, a few right at 15", the rest between 16"-18" . Everything today came on the clouser. As long as the water was moving, the trout were hitting pretty steady. No reds today.
Up until this week the flats had been dead, except for a little activity on Veterans day.
