Best Boat ramp at St. Marks

Post by Nopatients »

Hey all I have been fishing out of carabelle, Lanark, Keaton and steinhatchee w/ a little bit of aucilla and ecofina mixed in BUT I am meeting up with one of my friends from tallahasse tomorrow and going to do some fishing out of st marks, my plan is to go out to 8' or so and drift for some trout etc. I am in a 25' bay and just wasn't sure of the best boat ramp to use at st marks? thanks for the help

Shields Marina or the Fort (public ramp). See pic.
Both $5
You will have no problem launching from either one in that boat.
Shields is a little tight, but I like being able to just step in my boat from the side sometimes.

The fort is a wider, less steep ramp and better parking. Much easier for a larger boat. But if you need bait, ice or gas, Shields is the place.
