Poling a Sea Chaser 180 flats?

Post by Skunk »

Anybody ever poled a Sea Chaser 180 flats? I'll be using it for inshore flyfishing for redfish, trout, and maybe tarpon. It's heavy for a poling skiff, but is it doable? I like that it has some weight and a pronounced V and some deadrise, it should handle the conditions around here well, just concerned it will pole like a barge.

Thanks for any feedback.

According to the specs on their website the boat weighs 1500 lbs. They also have a photo showing the boat polling the flats. Obviously you want to hear from an owner of one, but just 2 cents from the peanut gallery Id day you can = )
