89 VS NON ETHANOL.

Post by Crazytazman »

I have a pair of 2003 150 4stroke yammies. Is it safe to put 89oct as long as use the Ring Free or stay with non ethanol and still use Ring Free?

If you use ethanol , you’ll need to add ethanol treatment and ring free if you want ( that doesn’t do anything for ethanol). But I wouldn’t ever put ethanol gas in my boat, never ever.

Are you sure they're 4 strokes? If so, they're probably 2004's or later. I don't think Yamaha made a 150 4 stroke until 2004 and as already stated: NOTHING but ethanol free fuel imo.

I'm positive they are 4 stroke. I know they are 2003 as well.

Then they can't be 150's! Yamaha didn't sell a 150 four stroke in 2003. The first Yamaha 150 four strokes were introduced in 2004.

I'm not sure what to say. All the paper work says 2003 and 150hp and four strokes. Maybe there is a typo on the paper work. I'm gonna look closer into this and find out.

I just looked at the title and it says 2003 150hp but It's the txrc model which is 2004. I missed that when I bought the boat. Wonder why the title says 2003?

Title is for the hull, not the power.

You're right. They don't. Maybe he's got an old title from another state that does. Image
