Here are the winners of the Perry Optimist Club Tournament. Unfortunately, my 5.30 trout was a bit out of the running.

Trout 1st Mark Glow 7.15
Trout 2nd Paul Falcone 5.65
Trout 3rd Steve English 5.60

Red 1st Ross Brenner 8.05

Cobia 1st Shane Edward's 15.10

Quality fish for sure. Tough luck Steve, that yours didn't even make the leaderboard. It would have in most tournaments.

For sure. I found the weight of the first and second place reds a bit hard to believe. NFGFC fishes all year and we rarely see them over 7.5 lbs and still under 27 inches. We caught some reds, but none even close to the weights listed.

I caught a trout in it a few years back just over 29 inches and just under 6 pounds and didn't place I feel your pain.Makayla had the biggest shiner out the 3 weigh in lol.

We’re they pinching tails? Seen a couple 8# slot fish in our territory, but not a lot.

I don't know because we didn't weigh-in a red. The weigh in at Econfina was pretty relaxed. There were a lot of trucks, trailers and boats, and too many damn golf carts, but not a lot of folks actually weighing in fish.

We weighed in a 25 inch red..... and yes they pinched the tail.
