Weather's looking good .... Not asking for anyone's spot or numbers, but roughly what depth do y'all think would be the minimum to have a good chance of bringing home some snapper?

I've caught them in 30' but you are best going 50' plus.

I have mixed feelings, on one hand, I'm very happy for the folks at the coast who depend on the tourist/fishermen dollars. Three years of tropical systems have beaten them to a pulp and they could use some extra cash to survive the winter.

On the selfish front, it means mayhem at the Lanark ramp and that is a pain in my backside. No, I don't usually go "Snappa Fishin" but I did win my boat on the opening day of Snapper Season in 2017 so I smile whenever I hear those words.

No reason not to take that new pathfinder to the snapper hole. It is a super fun and easy way to fill the box w some good eats. We usually put the i pilot down and chum and chunk them behind the boat and drift chunks back. Even more fun on light tackle, they fight hard and are sooo plentiful right now. If you want to buddy boat with us sometime, we’d love to have to have y’all out there

I do love snapper filets but not enough to fight the crowds of weekenders. Wish they'd open a couple of week days. :hammer:
