Lighthouse 8/19

Post by chris.harris388 »

Tough day in some mad heat. The day started off fast with my biggest jack ever caught on a topwater. He smashed it and started pulling line, made me round the boat on time, then after about 10 he finally tired out. We then ran to the flats using a pop cork and gulp with nothing but pin fish ripping the tails off. My buddy was using live shrimp and landed 3-4 small trout. That was pretty much it other than one poor mans tarpon and a meow fish or two. Did see one tarpon chasing LYs near the shore.

Meow fish lol.

I found the trout to be out deeper in 8 foot of water this time of year.

 Thanks for posting, not many people fishing this time of year. It should get better in a few weeks with cooler temps. Nice jack, I bet he pulled.
