Anyone been to Keaton or Steinhatchee lately?

Was thinking of going to Keaton in a couple of weeks. Has Any been or heard any reports on trout? Anyone got an idea water depth they might be in right now?

A lot can change is a couple of weeks. We could actually be enjoying fall conditions with cooler temps (air and water) or we could still be sweltering under 125% humidity and watching the track of the next hurricane.

Water temperatures remain in the warmer ranges right now, but the fish are reacting to shorter daylight hours and the calendar regardless. Check the peak tidal flow, the solunar tables and plan your trip accordingly.

They are in their usual fall feeding grounds but with the unseasonably high water temp they are not feeding at a rate we are used to this time of year. Water was over 80 today and that is pretty high for them to be super active in 3' of water. A lot can change in two weeks though. Their are still fish to be caught but we are still a good cool front away front the bite really firing up.

They were in 3'-5' in Steinhatchee a couple weeks ago. I'll be going down again the weekend of October 21st. Will post a report each day.

Would like to fish the Steinhatchee area the first weekend in November, does anyone know about places to stay for three fishermen? Sea Hag is booked up that weekend.
