Sheepshead at Steinhatchee Reef?

Post by jsaunders »

I've been reading that sheepshead start moving out to Steinhatchee Reef this time of year, but I've never been out there. I'll be down this weekend and figured I might give it shot if the inshore bite is slow. Anyone have a recent report?

I've always caught them before this time of year and will be trying them this weekend myself. Heard the bite has been on fire lately. Good luck if you go.

We were going to go but spoke to a couple of captains there and they said they aren't there yet, prob. closer to full moon in a week or two. Let us know how you do if you go there

The inshore bite was slow this afternoon. Water temp was 62-63. If it's slow in the morning, I may make the run and try out the reef.
