Went straight out of the mouth due to the nasty East wind. Stopped in 3 ft. and had steady bites until we reached 4 ft. Turned around and did that 3 more times. Started at 8:30 and had our fish at 12:30. Caught a few shorts but not many. We used Gotcha grubs in candy corn that I've had stashed at the camp for at least 10 years. Bounced on the bottom and also used a popper with a 2' leader. The thread on soft plastics other than Gulp made me want to try something different. My buddy wasn't having much luck so he tried a Gulp in glow with a chartreuse tail. Instant action! Snot cat. Wound up with 10 trout, 1 rock bass, and 1 flounder. Took a ride over to Hickory Mound. Lots of folks crabbing and fishing. Had a big fish fry that night with my good neighbors at Econfina River Resort. Great weekend!
