HOT Day In Steinhatchee.

We ended up going to Steinhatchee Sunday morning. It was a HOT day. Wasn’t even a breeze for most of the day. The good part was that we found some fish. We ended up with 15 keeper trout. We probably caught close to 50 in total. Caught most in 6-7 feet. White D.O.A. with an orange tail was color of the day. All white D.O.A. did ok as well.

Great day.

Were you using a popping cork?

Thanks for the report, glad you found some. Is the water clearing up any down that way?

Nicely done. We were not that successful.

We did not have any luck on a popping cork. We caught them all on 3” D.O.A. Shrimp bounced on the bottom. The water was very dirty. I don’t know that we hit a spot where you could see much more than a foot.

My Dad used to say if you could see your propeller down in the water, it was clear enough to fish. I bet you couldn't see yours, but sounds like it didn't matter.

Hahaha we could not see the propeller. I was surprised at how well we did. I was expecting to take the new boat out and be over the heat by noon but catching fish kept us going until about 3, that’s when the ice on the drinks melted.

Always amazing how catching fish makes you forget about how hot it is! Works for me.
