St. Marks 4/25

Post by silverking »

Wasn't on fire out of St. Marks today but not bad with the weak tides. Several short trout on near clear DOA shrimp and jumped a couple ladies. Figuratively speaking, of course.

Did boat what could have been a money pair with a 3-pound trout and an 8.5-pound, 26-inch red on topwater. That red had some shoulders and took more than 10 minutes to land.

Rock grass is coming back strong and the floating surface grass was almost non-existent. Water clarity was very clear. Temps started out around 68 degrees and were over 70 by the time I called it quits. Saw lots of scuttling blue crabs, pods of dolphin and one sea turtle. Fun day with my first mate.

Crabs were on the bottom and could be seen in depths up to four feet.
