Kayak out of Panacea 4-28

Used my duck hunting kayak as I was alone at Panacea. Loaded in as the tide was coming in. Tons of bait, but no takers on topwater or jig. So as the tide got high, I started seeing tails! Several of them were black drum, but did see some reds. No takers until I switched to an unweighted shad bait and a circle hook rigged weedless. Worked the oyster bars and started seeing reds. Little bit of getting used to presentation in my kayak. Had one easy over that just would not eat. Saw his smaller buddy and he was interested. So I broke the cherry on my duck hunting kayak. About a 22" red, fought like he was bigger. I need to explore the area more and get used to fishing from the kayak, but had fun and will be having a red dinner.
