Saturday Econfina

Post by Fishdawg »

I had a memorable trip with my son and 83 year old dad. On the water just after daylight until 2pm. We must have caught over 100 short trout and finally managed to get our limit of trout. We did not fish for reds on this trip, because we were plum tuckered out! Everytime I looked up my dad was reeling in another fish. We really made some memories on Free Fishing Day! Most were caught in 2.5'-3' on shrimp, jig and various plugs. They hit anything that moved, but chartreuse was the dominant color. Fun day on the water with no mishaps, except for that rock that jumped up and hit the foot on our Yamaha!

Thanks for the report. Great outing with your pops and son.

You have to be careful, though. Those rocks get up and move around in the middle of the night.
