2017 Trash Fish Classic

Postby rocket » April 20th, 2017, 5:23 pm

The Trash Fish Classic will take place this year on May 13 at Rock Landing Marina. Pay out will be half the tournament entry fees. All other proceeds are used as fundraising for a youth baseball team to send them to Cooperstown NY in July. Come join us this year for a fun time and a great cause. Captains meeting will be Thursday May 11 at Gordos on Timberlane rd.

Looks good, but not much of a premium on trash fish. Your better off fishing for cobia, reds, trout , pompano and flounder. Is it one fish per species?

I do not have a rule sheet in front of me, but I believe if you catch the first 5 fish on the list it's considered the "trash fish slam" and worth 40 points. I'll see if I can clarify that.

Prize money is awarded to 1st and 2nd place. Most points wins in. All fish must be legal size, 40 point bonus for the "trash can slam" which is the first 5 fish on the list. In the event of a tie, longest catfish wins.
For a complete set of rules come to the captains meeting.

Yes, only one fish per species. Above post should answer more questions.
