FSU Football Parking

Post by STMU »

Hey everyone, moved up here a few years ago and going to my first FSU game (VT vs. FSU opener) and wondering what the parking situation is like. Not seeing a lot of open fields in downtown Tallahassee for tailgating, so a little confused on where to park. Saw a couple of parking passes at the stadium online for over $200, but was hoping other options existed. Any other parking, like peoples yards or other lots that still within walking distance that are cheaper?

Full disclosure, VT grad here. I'll keep the post PC and save the trash talk for the game  . Hoping for a good one regardless, and a little friendly advice for a rival fan!!!

Are you looking to park & tailgate, or park and head to the stadium/surrounding areas?

If you're just looking to Park, focus on the Pensacola Street area West of Stadium Drive near Mellow Mushroom, North/South half a mile. Some areas (like grass between road/sidewalk) are free, others will range from $20 - $50 to park.

Some places around campus do parking as well (churches, private business) but its hell trying to get out after a game.

Your best bet is to probably just not even waste your money

I'll shoot you a PM closer to game-day with more specific info.

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on parking and tailgating as we have friends coming from out of town but it seems that's easier said than done, and space is a premium.

civic center is a great place to park and then ride the shuttle bus to the stadium and back for 5.00

Probably end up doing that. Are you allowed to tailgate for awhile at the parking lot before taking the bus over?

The parking lot at the civic centers is open several hours before the game, but just to let you know the civic center does charge to park also.
