Fishing below the dam for stripers
Anybody done this before? Tips? Advice? I think it's going to be a boondoggle, but I want to give it a try
Re: Fishing below the dam for stripers
I do it a lot. Below the dam is almost always one of the best places to stop but you'll find them anywhere you find running water. Discharges, creeks, etc.
Now isn't the best time of year for them but there should be a few early fish around and I've found those to usually be the bigger ones.. I usually wait until the trees start to bloom in the spring as an indicator the stripes and hybrids are biting. Any lure that looks like and imitates a shad should work well.
