10/30/18 Tuesday

Post by countrycorners »

Good Morning!
So, our truck search has ground to a halt. My wife has a severe case of sticker shock.
For now, we tow the camper with what we have. I'll carry our title with us so we can buy a new truck where ever we are
when the old one quits. Life is Good!

MAN, HAVE YA LOOKED AT THE PRICE ON PICKUP TRUCKS LATELY, RAM, BOY THEY SURE WILL RAM YA. LOOKED AT A 1/2 TON RAM TRUCK A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO AND THEY WANTED $52,000.00 FOR THAT SUCKER, THE LAST DODGE I BOUGHT NEW WAS BACK IN 1952, PAID $1,500.00 FOR THAT ONE, IT LASTED ME 32 YRS. AND I SOLD IT FOR $2,200.00 AND I HAD DRIVEN IT 225,300 MILES WITH NO MAJOR REPAIRS OTHER THAN ALTANATOR, AND STARTER MOTOR, I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY MAKE THEM THAT GOOD ANYMORE. THE GUY I SOLD IT TO WORKED FOR ME AS A DRIVER FOR 20 YRS DRIING A 18 WHEELER CAR CARRIER, I SOLD HIM THE CAR CARRIER HE DROVE, HE IS STILL HAULING CARS. MY BOYS BOUGHT ME A USED TRUCK IN GOOD SHAPE WHEN I RETIRED, IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN BY ME AND THE WHOLE FAMILY FOR THE LAST 30 YRS. AND IS BEGINNING TO GET TIRED.

It really is crazy. But consumers are paying the prices, so there will be no slow-down in sticker-rise.

I bought my Xterra almost 4 years ago... and it was used. 2012. The same 2012 model is still selling for THE SAME EXACT PRICE (or more!)... blows my mind.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark
