People are always cracking on the CDE Stakeout pole that is used in Kayak Fishing. THye call it a $70 stick. They want to know why someopne would pay $70 for a fiberglass stick that floats if dropped in the water, ahs a steel tip that penetrates Oyster Bars, is lightweight and you could do pull ups on it its so strong. And then there is the $1000 stick plus $400 installation stick called the power pole that adds 25 lbs to your boat weight.

I was thinking about making/getting something similar to the stakeout pole for my skiff. Most of the time, I'm too lazy to get out the push pole to stake out. Do you think that would hold a 15' skiff?

yeah but the P/P comes with a it's own trunk monkey to deploy/retract the stake with the push of a button. don't even have to take your hands off the rod. What is the extra weight of another guy riding on the yak to deploy this $70 stick? I'm just saying

I'm thinking that eventually the Power Pole will be as standard at Trolling Motors are now. I don't have one, but one day....

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to buy stock in that company. I wonder when Minn Kota or Motor Guide will come out with their own version?

I was fortunate to fish whith a member this past weekend that has one and I think it was unbelievable what it allows you to do. Power Pole is a very, very useful tool on a boat. HANDS DOWN WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I have read to get the 8', don't settle for the 6' or you will regret it. I don't have one that is opinions from those who do have them.
