St.Marks river 1/10/04

Post by rx fisher »

I've just about thawed out, with the rest of my brave bunch.
Went fishing up the river, BRRRRR, wind would not leave us alone, but
neither did the fish. A little strange but must of caught 50 snappers,
all about 91/2 inches, A lot of fun on light tackle.
My 13 yo son was a great sport, thought he was smiling the whole time,
but said his braces were too cold to close his mouth.
No keepers but had fun.
Used live shrimp and circle hooks with a couple split shots, all fish
caught in the corner of mouth except 2.
Final tally ~50 snappers, 2 sheeps head and 1 pinfish, no trout or reds.

Good job RX and Son!

Sounds like a bunch of fun especially as you say on light tackle.
Thanks for the report.

Sounds like a lotta fun. How big were the sheepsheads? those snappers are worth the trip down there-doesn't matter if you keep them, they are fun to catch. Reckon where the trout got off to? As cold as it is, I figured the place would be full of them now.

Lot of fun I'm sure. That's my favorite trip to take a kid. Even the Sand Trout are fun for a kid to catch.
