Steinhatchee Reef

Group of us hit the reef and caught a few hungry...
Had 4 over 6lbs.
29 total plus 2 cobia at 30 inches.

I was headed there 2 weeks ago, but the seas did not cooperate. Glad to see ya'll whupped them good.

Thanks for the report. Them bandits are my most favorite fish to catch but I can never time them right on the reef. Looks like they're there now.

How far out do you have to go to get to the Reef? I have a 20ft Ranger Bass boat, should I go?

12 mile run from Keaton. I think its around 8-9 miles straight off the shore.. may be mistaken... we were in a 21 bay boat, and were fine. There was an older man in a 16' Carolina skiff tryin it...

My Ranger is up for sale, I am going to get a 22 to 24 ft. Ranger or something, cannot give up the trolling motor, so probably want go any bigger. Thaks for the info.

Jig head,m live shrimp, on the bottom.. very still.. added a few split shot as current picked up to get it down where i wanted it...
