Re: Captain Keyser
Well, had a dead cranking battery first thing which turned into a trip to Advanced Auto for a 30min quick charge ( If the tournament was held we would have been skrewed). We ended up making it out on the water around 2:30 and ran East to try to get into a creek. After a long rough ride ( yes, rough ride) we got to a THE creek with too little time to fish. I was too worried that by the time we went in and fished we wouldn't be able to get out. So long story short, we ran from the Ft. all the way to Aucilla, putted all the way in....... and had to turn around. We made our way back (Nina and myself) and had wonderful conversation and drank VERY cold beer. We actually didn't even get a chance to cast a rod....................but by golly we went.
The winds were tough and if we had arrived before the incoming I do feel confident that we would have caught multiple limits . However, things didn't work out as planned as they rarely do. We were able to see that the water temp in 1ft was a frigid 53... yikes!
I still won't back down from my feelings earlier, but I will say this; If you ain't cut out for miserable conditions then it was a good thing the tournament was canceled.

The water in th "O" was 45 yesterday and the few bass I caught felt like they come outta the freezer only 1 keeper and the wind was howling. Tried Bear for Reds but it was even worse wind on the Bay end

Re: Captain Keyser
I am so glad it was a crappy day on the water.
It would have been a shame if it was nice out there after the call to cancel.
On the battery issue. Everyone should check their boat batteries. With the down time we have had recently due to weather and hunting many are probably dead.

Good effort Eric.
I did the battery thing about 3 weeks ago.

YOU SHOULD RUN YOUR BOAT EVERY 2 TO 3 WEEKS FOR 5 MIN. OR SO, ON BOARD BATTERY CHARGERS ARE GOOD ALSO WHEN BOAT IS STORED FOR A TIME

Thanks for all the positive support. You'll get a kick outta this. Not sure if it was directly related to the frigid boat ride, but I have been out of work sick since Monday. Eat it up Casey!!!!

What you need is a good bowl of hot chili to get you back in shape.
