Fishing Apalachicola Bay Area

Post by fishy »

I’m from Virginia and my fishing partner and I are planning a trip to the Apalachicola Bay area this spring to fish for specks and red fish. We plan to fish from kayaks on the protected side of the islands. What time frame in April or May would you recommend for such a trip?? What particular areas would you recommend we try??
Thanks,
“fishy”

May would be best. There are several ramps and launch sites on St. George for your kayaks. The entire length of the island is good fishing.
A drive around to St.Joe Bay would be worthwhile also.

You can launch at 11th street west. Head west towards the air-strip, fish the shoreline and marshy area. The fishing should be great in April.
