Keaton Beach 3/30/2010

Post by CSMarine »

Only got to fish a couple hours. Wind blowing gale force. In a small skiff so didn't stay long. Water dark and rough. Fished the rocks in skinny water. Still enjoyed the tug.[attachment=0]126.JPG

Good morning CS...

couple of really nice fish to fry up there.

Was wonder'n... since the air temps have taken a pretty good jump in the past few days, and the water being cooler than the air... did you folks have any FOG down there this morning??

Great catch for the conditions. I know for we were there!

We only caught two undersized trout. Wanted to poke around inside the Spring Warrior area but winds so bad we didn't chance it. Shore hopped from Keaton to SW and back. Wind just right to blow us back toward the shore. Saw lots of mullet and other fishermen. Pretty day except for the wind.

Sir Reel,
No fog. If the wind had laid, it would have been just right. I fished north of Keaton. pretty much in a protected area. Just getting to the place was a chore. I was in an old 14' skiff with a 35hp motor. Got fairly wet fast. Still worth it. Nobody but me and the Game Warden there. 8)

Hey, Billy, nice fish. I bet they pulled, that is a fat red.
I haven't even made it out this year, might try Aucilla Monday if weather and conditions look OK.

Hey Reb,
Long time no see! Went over there to visit my uncle at the Rise and look around Tuesday. Water was way up that day, he said he hadn't been doing much. No rain this week, maybe it's settled down some.
