"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

The new 17' Hewes is sposed to sell for 18.5 to 19k, BMT. Seems like a deal. But, where the heck are you going to keep your fish and cold beverages (seperately) without having coolers cluttering up the cockpit?

All fishing boats should have a dedicated space to keep TWO coolers or two built-in insulated boxes.

Ken:

People who buy high end flats boats don't keep fish. All my buddies that have Hewes or Mavericks are nearly all fly fishermen, or at least catch and release. As a result, they carry little coke size coolers which will hold maybe a lunch and two small trout, when they get the urge for a fillet outside of a resturant plate.

So Hewes is playing to those guys, not people like me, who like to eat fish that I cook myself.

Is that a new line Hewes is coming out with? That is a nice boat. Looks like they incorporated a 1700T Pathfinder, with a 16' Redfisher. I like everything except for the polling platform not hanging off the back. It might add stability where it is, but it would take fishing room off the back. I bet it barely needs water to run!! :D
The 2200V is a nice boat as well. I've done a lot of research on them lately, and they seem to be a great all around boat.

The problem with me owning a spensive boat like those is, I beat them up to bad. I go places with the CS Marine that surprises me sometimes. I knows it's surprised Chalk before. I heard him scream from fright once over a little ole oyster bar that I never touched. I'd be scared of scratching it. :-?

Quote from CSMarine, " There are oyster bars to the left and to the right, it's open straight out."

10 seconds later, I scream watch out and the foot drags across the bar....

Now you know the rest of the story.....
