Fly rod travel tube Wanted
Anyone have a combo fly rod/reel travel tube they don't use? Trying to find one that will fit a 3-piece 9-foot rod with the reel mounted. Scientific Anglers, DB Dunn, LL Bean, Orvis and Simms are all companies that make the ones with hard plastic tube covered with Cordura and the padded zip-up reel pouch.
Need one for my 10-weight for an upcoming trip to Baja. Hoping to tangle with some big roosters while I'm there.
Have an aluminum rod tube already, so only looking for the type above.
Thanks.

Did you see these from Orvis? More on the line of luggage vs. rod tube...

Thanks for the link, Tim. I've got one of the Loomis travel bags with built-in tubes and the roller board. Thing is so heavy it puts me in the hole immediately with the overweight charges.
Thanks to FHC's generosity , I should be all set. Cock-a-doodle do, roosters, here I come. I'm sure I won't top the 80-pounder I caught in May on conventional gear, but I'm going to give it my best cast. They're such a cool fish.

Thanks for asking, Silverking, but think I'll hold out for Costa Rica.silverking wrote:Harmsway, want to join me on an upcoming trip to Baja? Hoping to tangle with some big roosters while I'm there.
Catch'em up!
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

Been there 3X Harmsway. But I'd go back to Tropic Star Lodge in Panama every year and twice on Sundays! Best big game lodge in the world, bar none. The GBR in Australia wasn't too shabby either, come to think of it.
