My daugher's first deer.
A few summers ago, Catherine attended summer camp at FWC Beau Turner Youth Conservation Camp and obtained her hunter safety certificate. She was one of two girls and she outshot everyone, including the boys. She has been wanting to go hunting for a long time. I couldn't be of much help as I'm not a hunter. This season a nice neighbor took her to Leon and Gadsden sites more than a dozen times without any luck. Sunday (the last day of the season) at close to sunset she finally spotted a nice buck. With the patience and precision of a pro, she waited for a clean shot and dropped it just like on television. The deer is being processed and the mount will show up in a month or so.

That's awesome!! Congrats to Catherine!!
Catch & Release Fish!!!!....... Not Criminals!
Re: My daugher's first deer.
nice work Catherine! Very cool.
Ken, hard to tell from the pics but I would guess 2.5 years old. Seems to have a little bigger body and gut than a year and half, but not the brisket or saggy back of an old deer. It would be easier to tell if he was standing.
Now do yourself a favor and buy that girl the bow she wants...

In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

MEGA-CONGRATS!

Excellent... Catherine will always remember her first deer, it's great you are having the head mounted for her. Now all she has to do is learn how to cook venison and you'll have it made!

We'll add that to her list, which is growing! Had to spring for a shoulder mount for that deer. And, now she wants a 270, of course with a high quality scope. At least she hasn't started exploring renting her own hunting plot! I'm sure that's next.SHOWBOAT wrote:nice work Catherine! Very cool.
