Cape San Blas
Anyone have any feedback on the fishing near cape san blas? I will be visiting family that will be camping for the weekend and wouldn't mind taking some gear to give them something to throw on the grill.

Re: Can San Blas
some of the best fishing around and all kinds of wildlife. Reds and trout are plentiful, and the lack of scallops have kept the flats mostly unmolested this year. Eagle Harbor, the City Ramp, Presnells and the hand launch on the Cape all put you in close proximity to awesome flats. Have fun!
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

We will have a couple boats there. Looking forward to it.

Re: Can San Blas
Get out early and fish the grass near deeper water. Beautiful place.
Re: Cape San Blas
If you put in at Presnell's run to the north side of Black's Island. Fish either white with red tail grubs, suspended mirror lures or live LY. Look for fingers of grass trailing off into deeper water this time of the year. Good luck!
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!
Re: Cape San Blas
We used the ramp in the state park. Fished the flats but suffered due to the warm water. One keeper trout, some shorts a flounder and some bluefish.
Re: Cape San Blas
I heard a report a few weeks ago that white trout were schooling in some deep holes out in St. Joe Bay. There is a very deep 40 ft. hole almost straight out from the park landing.

We had a big group of people and so we didn't venture off too far. I wish we had gotten into the deeper water.
