SGI East Pass fishing report

Post by DEADLYMNM7 »

My Friend and I went to SGI State Park East Pass from 1:30pm to 9pm
The wind was pretty strong and the water was murky in some areas
We where fishing with frozen shrimp and mullet.
There was alot of seaweed in the water and your line and hook would be covered in it.
We managed to catch and return
1 baby Jack
2 Ladyfish
lots of catfish

We didn't catch what we wanted Reds and trout but it was still a beautiful day!

You might consider throwing a small cast net for live bull/mud minnows or pilchards if you can find them and fish them on a fish-finder rig or under a cork with long leader. Static baits like frozen shrimp are going to draw cats.

At least you got out there--beats sitting on the couch. Better luck next time.

Thanks for the tips.
I didn't realize the frozen bait attracted the Catfish!
Thank you again
