WELL THE OLD CRAMPS HAVE JUMPED ON THE OLD MAN AGAIN, BOY DO I HATE THESE THINGS, THEY HURT MORE THAN ANY INJURY I HAVE EVER HAD. WISH I COULD FIND SOMETHING THAT WOULD STOP THEM , OR BETTER STILL , PREVENT THEM. THEY HURT ME SO BAD I CAN HARDLY GET UP AND DOWN FOR 24 HOURS. IF Y'ALL KNOW SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP ME GET RID OF THESE THING PLEASE TELL ME, THE DOC'S DO NOT SEEM TO KNOW , AT LEAST THE ONES I GO TO.
THANKS

Good Morning! My wife used to get leg cramps. She stopped eating anything with artificial sweetner, no more cramps.
Go figure.

Magnesium tablets may help, PA, but you'd need to run it by your docs first to make sure there wouldn't be any adverse reactions with your other meds.

If these are leg cramps, I get them because of dehydration. This can happen easily during extended warm weather outdoor activities. I find that near constant sipping of water is the key, and no alcohol. You have to drink more water than seems natural and keep it up. If you are not peeing every couple of hours or if it is dark colored drink more.
Best,
EJ

This is a great solution, certainly helps me, especially taken just before bedtime, keeps the night cramps away.Blue spinner wrote:Morning Pa ,

Make sure its the "real" tonic water, not that slimline rubbish.
Apparently its the quinine in it that helps.

THANKS A MILLION FOR YOUR REPLIES, I USE TO USE QUININE BUT YA HAVE TO HAVE A PRESCRIPTION TO BUY IT NOW. NOW THAT I THINK BACK, MOST OF THE TIME WHEN I GET THEM THE WEATHER HAS REALLY BEEN HOT. I HAVE HAD OTHER FRIENDS, SOME DOCTORS, RECOMMEND CONSUMING AT LEAST 1 GAL. OF WATER PER DAY, I WILL TRY THAT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE REPLIES.
